Shem Creek Pier

One of the newest additions to Shem Creek is the Charleston Parks & Recreation Shem Creek Pier and it’s just one of the many ways to enjoy all that Shem Creek has to offer. The pier is more than 2,000 feet of 10-foot wide walkway that extends all the way from Coleman Boulevard to the Charleston Harbor.  The pier offers a bridge to Vickery’s Restaurant, a picnic area, fishing platforms and beautiful views – of course! You can even catch a water taxi that will take you across Charleston Harbor to downtown Charleston! The Town of Mount Pleasant is currently working on other amenities that the pier will soon offer residents and visitors.

The pier is the perfect place to take a casual stroll after dining at one of Shem Creek’s popular restaurants or you can even ride your bicycle, like the one featured from Mike’s Bikes,  down the pier (thanks to it’s 10-foot width) and enjoy our spectacular sunrises. Whatever time of day, the pier is just another wonderful way to enjoy the best that life in Mount Pleasant has to offer.

  1. Just a point of information, the Shem Creek pier is owned and maintained by the Town of Mt. Pleasant, not Charleston Parks and Rec. The pier below the Ravenel Bridge in Mt. Pleasanti is owned and maintained by the county.
